Compress Images Online

Make JPG, PNG, and WebP files smaller directly in your browser.

Processed locally in your browser
Images are never enlarged. Browser encoding may remove embedded metadata.

What this tool does

Reduce the file size of JPG, PNG, and WebP images without sending them to a server. Choose a quality preset or fine-tune the result yourself.

How to use it

  1. 1Choose or drop up to 20 supported images.
  2. 2Select a compression mode and optional maximum dimension.
  3. 3Compress, review the savings, and download one file or a ZIP.

Privacy

Image decoding, resizing, compression, and ZIP creation happen in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to Zevian.

Supported formats and options

JPG/JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 25 MB each. Automatic, smaller-file, better-quality, and advanced quality modes are available, with optional 1920, 1280, or 800 pixel bounds.

Limitations

Results depend on the source image and browser encoder. PNG files with complex detail may not become smaller, metadata can be removed during re-encoding, and very large dimensions may exceed device memory.

Frequently asked questions

Will my images be uploaded?

No. Supported images are decoded and compressed locally in the browser.

Does Zevian enlarge small images?

No. Maximum-dimension settings only shrink images that exceed the selected bound.

What happens to transparent images?

PNG and WebP output retain transparency supported by the browser encoder. JPEG does not support transparency.
